In the spring of 1999, Bev moved from Southern California to Eugene to be near her children, Kate and Marc. A retired schoolteacher, she happily embraced retirement: traveling around the world, volunteering with the Bach Festival, starting a stitchery group, singing in the church choir, attending performances at the Hult Center. In no time, she had made many friends and a happy home of Eugene. In the spring of 2002, Bev was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. A genuine trooper, Bev kept up her active life to the very end, scheduling chemo around her travels. And she never stopped believing that she would beat the odds. click here to view a Full Tribute |
