Walk for Life

The Soroptimist Walk for Life is an annual fund-raising event held by the Soroptimist Clubs of Eugene, The Emerald Empire, and Junction City. This event raises money for the Soroptimist Breast & Gynecologic Cancer Assistance Fund which provides emergency cash grants to Lane County women who are having financial hardship while undergoing cancer treatment. The funds are administrated by the Medical Social Work staff at the Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center.

Since 1993, over $295,000 has been raised by walkers in the annual Soroptimist Walk for Life and through donations made throughout the year. In 2008, we raised $20,000 at the Walk, and our goal for 2009 is $25,000.
